Nancy Bell: Bravo for the New Voice of Australia Fighting Discrimination Everywhere
After Australia Day tensions, returning media figure Nancy Bell delivers a delayed national message blending satire, identity politics commentary, and cultural critique, positioning himself once again as a provocative Australian voice.
* Editor’s note: This article which includes the embedded video is satire/comedy.
Australia Day 2026 has come and gone, yet the repercussions caused by identity politics and disruptive protests continue to dominate our national conversation.
One voice, however, acts as a soothing balm on the nation’s bubbling digestive system. A voice so measured, so honest and so clear, that it’s no surprise that Australian media, including the ABC, are clamouring to recruit this voice as their totem, their inspiration and their mentor.
This voice belongs to the enigmatic Nancy Bell, a talent who shot to national stardom in 2023-24 before being afflicted by a mystery illness that silenced this magic voice until recently.
Nancy Bell (pronouns he/him) released his latest national message to the world three days after Australia Day 2026. But why? Why make us wait days at such a difficult time in our history?
The Daily Declaration, via the journalistic skill of Robert Kable, was the only media outlet accredited to pose the question.
Inclusivity
DD: Doctor Nancy, why did you not release your message on or before our national day?
NB:
It was a matter of being considerate to others, Robert. I was being kind and inclusive.
During my illness, I completed a Bachelor of Diversity from Monash University in Melbourne. I learned that merit no longer matters, and anyone can do anything, even if they are no good at it at all.
It taught me that it’s more important to include people in your team who can’t possibly contribute to your team. What matters is how they look and that they must identify as something they are not.
It was a marvellous course that has ensured I’m nice to everyone, even if they are nasty and bad. I now include everyone unless they disagree with me or have achieved something important.
Kindness, diversity and inclusion, Robert. I may be the voice of Australia, but I’ll still let others have a whisper at times.
I knew my message would dominate newspaper headlines and drown out announcements about Australians of the Year, Orders of Australia, tennis games, Married at First Sight, and that sort of thing.
The wireless and interweb would have carried my words ahead of the words of our elected leaders and the drivelling of our many non-elected minority news-grabbers. I wanted to give others the spotlight for a time.
Most Australians knew I’d been asked to be the new Face of the ABC. There was a strong indication that if things turned out, I could be the next newsreader and even write some of the news. The population was looking forward to it, as was I.
I didn’t want to reveal what followed so as not to disappoint millions on our National Day. Some difficult news should wait its turn, Robert. Australia Day is a happy day. You’ll have to see my latest message to understand.
And that was it. Mysterious, cryptic and bordering on the hypnotic, Nancy Bell signalled that in 2026, he will once again be the voice Australia desperately needs. Look out!

Who do we class as “indigenous?” A wonderful Aboriginal friend of mine, who is now in Glory, told me that if you are born in Australia, then you are “indigenous!” Our Aboriginal brothers and sisters are referred to as “First Nation” people! But then, I may be wrong! At the end of the of the day, does it really matter!!
Nancy Bell is back- he/ him is speaking bold truths with precision and sensitivity. We need your wisdom NB- so glad you have found your voice again!
Great to have Dr Nancy back. More diverse than ever!
This is merciless humour. As Mark Twain said, “The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter.” Phil Dye the author is a very clever and witty journalist who has written for all the majors. He taught journalism at University. Nancy Bell his alter-ego has a simple message laced with inarguable humour is that the Emperor has got no clothes!
Gotta love Aussie humor! Sure we’re not as witty and clever as the Brits. And we’re not even as funny as the Yanks. And sure it’s never ever genuinely laugh out loud.
So yeah, Aussie humor is more about making fun of people, slagging off, taking the mickey out of people, belittling people. Like you say, never funny. Just merciless. If you can’t be funny, just make fun of.
Thank you for your comment ‘Co’. As the author of said “slagging off, belittling never-funniness”, I’m thrilled that someone actually read and watched my work. I’m even more thrilled that it somehow scratched a nerve.
In Australian society, the cult of gender identity is a nerve that needs exposure and Neurectomy – that’s doctor-speak for removal . Humour (however un-funny to some) can expose the true toxic nature of that nerve.
People cannot change sex and it’s not kind to let that lie to perpetuate. It is not kind to tell children they can be born in the wrong body, to feed them puberty blockers and hormones. It’s not kind to castrate teens and give them a lifetime of medical treatment. It’s not kind to allow biological males to play sport against women and girls.
When a damaging ideology opposes biological and biblical truth, it is up to scientists and Christians to let the truth be known in any way they can.
As Matthew recalled Jesus saying, “Happy are those who are persecuted in the cause of right …”.
Dr Nancy is very happy to be persecuted for that cause.
I was very impressed to hear that Pauline Hanson was odds on to be our next prime minister but clearly Nancy should be the favourite, not just because she’s the hottest red head since Julia Gillard but she is what this country desperately needs. You go girl !!
